Safety programmes are provided to adult protected persons and specified persons under s 187 of the Family Violence Act.
Adult Safety Programmes comprises of an assessment and/or safety programme sessions, for persons 17 years and over and named in Protection Orders issued pursuant to the Family Violence Act 2018 or the Sentencing Act 2002.
Strengthening Safety Services, at the request of victims of family violence where proceedings are before the Courts and for applicants awaiting a decision on an application for the grant of a Protection Order pursuant to the Family Violence Act 2018.
Programmes have a specialist framework for specific population groups including; Māori, Pacifica, Asian/Indian/African/Middle Eastern and Chinese to ensure the programme is responsive to participants’ needs.
