Support for You
We work with victims of Family Violence. Our services are available to individuals of all genders and sexualities.
We support victims of Family Violence whether or not they wish to continue the relationship with the person who has harmed them.
We support victims whether they remain in their homes and communities, or need to utilise our safe accommodation.
Our range of advocacy services include:
- safety planning
- support to obtain Family Court Orders
- education on what constitutes Family Violence
- empowering and supporting victims to report any harm that occurs
- empowering and supporting victims to report any breaches of Family Court Orders
- advocacy with Government organisations including NZ Police, Work and Income, Immigration New Zealand, Oranga Tamariki, Kainga Ora
- advocacy with schools, health services, other community agencies/ NGOs
- support with accessing family violence leave
- referrals to community supports
- Support to access further SHE services- safe accommodation, Whanau Protect, Education programme
We have a dedicated team who accept referrals from and work in the Integrated Safety Response (ISR) system coordinated by Christchurch police. ISR is a multi-agency intervention designed to ensure the immediate safety of victims and children, and to work with perpetrators to prevent further violence.
